Life Is Busy
This week’s Hope News might feel different because someone different is writing it! Kent is at a conference this week so I (Monica), get the opportunity to fill in. I am excited to share what God has laid on my heart with you all!
Life is BUSY! Especially in this season with travel, parties, expectations, and the year coming to an end. For me, I can so easily get lost in the busyness of my to-do list. As I’m checking the boxes I forget to enjoy the beauty that this season has to offer. I get tired, worn out, and end up wishing for the crazy to end. It can all feel so overwhelming.
Can I get an amen?! If I were a betting woman, I would guess that on the other side of the computer screen there are some nodding heads and hands being raised! I won’t lie to ya, I’m thankful that I’m not alone, but y’all there HAS to be a better way.
We know that Christ has called us to live an abundant life! We also know that He is the joy that this world could never offer! The truth is Jesus offers us a life that is full, plentiful, and abounding. So why then do we live a life that feels depleted?
I think it’s because we forget! We live in a world that’s rigged to distract us, that’s reality. So what do we do? How can we win this season and live an abundant life?
Whenever we inevitably get distracted, we have to stop, and fix our eyes on Jesus. Each time we push through our distractions and connect with Jesus, we win! We remember that Jesus is better than anything this world could possibly give us. We give ourselves grace and remember that God’s love for us is unshakeable!
Tonight we have an opportunity to stop. We get to be intentional and set aside all the distractions. We get to come together as a family, connect and encourage one another. Then together, we will fix our eyes on Jesus and worship! We will be reminded of who He is and His overwhelming faithfulness.
We also get to serve together by bringing and praying over our shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. It’s going to be an incredible night. I can’t wait! Don’t miss it!
